The next batch of QB's that we're going to review are the guys in the category I refer to as "Fading Fast." They might be able to get their teams by this season, but it's going to be scary. They have no upside. Their best days are behind them. They are one good sack away from applying for jobs at Fox Sports. Let's review who we have here...
St. Louis
Marc Bulger
Remember the fast show on turf? Gone. Remember how Marc Bulger was so much the future that they sent former MVP Kurt Warner packing? Over. Done. Finished. Bulger gets tossed around like a rag doll, has no receivers to throw to anymore and his lone option is Stephen Jackson. It's going to be ugly for Bulger.
Philadelphia
Donovan McNabb
Hey Donovan, remember when they drafted that other guy who was a QB in the second round last year and people thought that they had picked your successor? Yeah, well that was all true. One to two good years are left for McNabb. With the NFC East being as loaded as it is, there's not a ton of hope for Philly either. Facing defensive lines like Dallas and New York will make things even harder on McNabb.
Arizona
Kurt Warner
Since Leinart sucked ass against the Raiders the other night, Kurt Warner got promoted back to the job of starter. One problem with that, he's all used up, his arm is beat to shit and if you put an ounce of pressure on him, he'll throw the ball anywhere to keep from getting hit. Leinart was supposed to be the guy, Warner was just there waiting for him to grow the F*** up, but that hasn't happened yet. Warner will get knocked silly at some point, we'll have to see his wife's face on TV again cringing and then they'll have to put Leinart in again. Thanks a bunch Leinart for making us think we were done seeing the Warner's again.
Carolina
Jake Delhomme
He's a good ol' Cajun boy and I really like the guy, but man is it going to be ugly. His top receiver is going to be sidelined for the first two games because his fist kept running into a teammate. Other than Steve Smith, Delhomme has no other targets. His jersey should mark the locations of his vital organs so that some sympathetic defensive tackle will know where not to hit him and send him on the the DL with a ruptured spleen or something crappy like that.
NY Jets
Brett Favre
I'm just not buying this. I think he only showed up in New York because he wanted to call Green Bay on what he thought was their bluff. He was the MVP last season, but this season he is surrounded by shit for talent. He'll get frustrated, he'll start making crazy throws that become INTs. He's only a one or two season solution to begin with. It's going to look good for a few weeks, then average and then Jets fans will begin to believe that the Jets trading for Favre was just one big cocktease.
